From the beginning of this year, we usually have our class meeting on Sunday after coffee hour. We still pray for everyone and each other. I am still thanking God this year no member from our class meeting has gone. We all happy and sound alive.
Even though it has been challenging and at times we find it difficult to meet as the year progressed. I thank to all members of my group for all your support for what we have been through from the beginning of this year, sometimes we struggling, but without your help spieially8 Gods helps nothing well done. May the good Lord continue his loving hand upon us and always.
I am blessed to serve you all as a leader of Nazareth.
Love you all and God bless.
We had an awesome 2016. Through-out the year St. Luke's youths and children gathered for spiritual formation small group meeting at various venues. We enjoyed Pizza nights at the parsonage, barbeques at the Social Hall, had book studies at the Friendship room while sharing meals together.
The 3rd Sunday of May was probably the most highlighted event for the congregation which was known as "FAKAME;" all the youths and Sunday school children led both the 11am English Worship Service and then participated leading the afternoon Tongan language service at 3pm followed by an Island feast prepared by the parents at the Social hall.As a Spiritual formation Wesley Small group of
St. Luke's we were challenged to commit ourselves to the vision for 2016 which was "Grow in Faith, Grow in Mission, Grow in Numbers" and we prayerfully tried to focus and work towards that vision. At St. Luke's we have 5 Wesley Small Groups and during the beginning of the Stewardship each of the groups were challenged to give $24,000 towards Stewardship. On Friday October 13th, at our "Koniseti" Tithe & Offering Celebrations, Jerusalem gave $30,000 exceeding our goal by $6000. Big-shoutout to all the parents, our youths & Sunday School children, to my wife Popua and our Youth Director Sophia Mafuahingano for their leadership and support in 2016.In Christ,
Rev. Tikiko Lesuma, pastor.
Galilee
Galilee is one of the five groups within St. Luke's UMC doors. Things that this small group found were very important and kept Galilee strong.Their ability to help one another when in need, working together, and sharing their love and trust with each other and God. In order to do so, this group met with each other on Tuesdays to discuss and share Scripture verses from the Bible and prepare a few songs for the church. This helped with always keeping their faith with God, staying strong, and just too simply work together not as individuals but as one.
Throughout the year, within every week, Galilee manage to find a way to become closer to God, whether it's serving Him in the church or preparing feast on Sundays. Galilee growth wasn't for nothing; we honored the fact that one of our members, Tiulipe Taulahi was the Chair of the very first Misinale of St. Luke's UMC in 2015. With that being said, putting in all the hours spending on the Misinale we managed to give over $ 23000 on the day of Misinale 2015. On this year 2016, Galilee managed to give over $27000.00 on the day of Misinale 2016. Members of Galilee are all very grateful and full of joy that we were able to be in this small group and hope for more of that amazing joy on the next coming year.
Mathew 18: 19 " Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my father in heaven."
Galilee is a group to remember and believes in nothing else but keeping faith in our father and always giving thanks to Him. Walking into the year of 2017, the work that this small group has done would not be forgotten, but instead find ways to continue giving , praising and working for our Father and for the Lord into New Year.
Bethlehem
First I would like to give thanks to God.
Second. I would like to give thanks to the members of Bethlehem Small Group for your commitment and your sacrifice that we take extra steps this year and become a chair person for our yearly giving (misinale). Things have not been easy. But we did it because of the Power of Christ. Thanks be to God.
May the Power continually living with us for the rest of our life.
Thank you so much. May God bless Bethlehem families. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.
Love in Christ always,
Inoke Fanaika
Your Servant in Christ.
